5 Things They Don’t Tell You About Running A Business

I bet you’re running your business for a bunch of reasons. 

More money - you want a bigger slice of the pie and to set yourself (and your loved ones) up for financial success. 

More freedom - you want to design your work around the life you want to live, and not the other way around… 

More meaning - you want to make more of an impact doing the work you’re passionate about. 

But here’s the deal, there are 5 things they didn’t tell you about running your business. 

1) It’s hard. Like really hard.  

Things will go wrong. Clients will leave. Staff will leave. Team won’t follow processes. Rework will be required. You’ll need to do big hours. The things you thought you would be able to get someone else to do, often boomerang back to you, etc.  

2) You’ll second guess yourself. 

If you think of yourself as self-confident - business will quickly put that to the test. You’ll be tested in more ways than one and you’ll find yourself overthinking simple problems because you don’t want to get it wrong. 

3) The buck stops with you.  

There’s no hiding. You’re responsible for everything. You can’t pass it off to someone else. Everything that happens in your business comes back to you. Period. 

4) You’ll grow as a person. 

Running a business is honestly the biggest and best personal development program you’ll go on. You’ll go through self-doubt, anxiety, sleepless nights, success, elation - all in the same week! 

5) It’s the best thing you will ever do.  

Regardless of all of the hard stuff- none of that matters. If you’re running a business, it’s because you were born to do it and nothing could change that or take it away. It’s in your blood and your DNA.  

To all the business owners out there, I freakin salute you!  

You’re pushing the boundaries and the limits of what’s possible. 

You’re working every day to build a better business and upgrade your life.  

You want more from this life and you’re doing the work required to make that happen.  

I want you to know that you’ve got this 👊
