There are points in your life when you will come to a crossroads, and you can either go back into safety, or you can bravely venture into the unknown.
The problem with this is, many people do not know how to venture into the unknown with a warrior spirit. Most people will habitually choose the safe road because that is the only way they know how. Except, that crossroads won’t ever fully go away (it will keep knocking on your door), and for these people that choose safety, a lot of the time a crisis will come crashing down on them and they will be forced to make a change.
So, what then does it mean to bravely venture into the unknown?
Bravely venturing into the unknown is when you do the following.
1) Something in life starts to become uncomfortable, it starts to annoy you, bug you, get on your nerves, you don’t like living that way anymore. It creeps up on you over time, and you start to recognise it and become aware that something is different =.
For example, I had a...
Unfortunately, we have been sold a lie.
We’re told that the doorway to success swings outward. We’re told that we just need to work harder, get more clients, make more money, buy more things and we will feel truly happy in our career and in our life.
In actual fact - the doorway to success (true success) swings inward.
The true path to living a deeply rewarding life and having an incredibly successful career - lies within.
Most people are running around blindly trying to amass more money, more clients, more toys in the hope that they will be able to quieten that voice that’s trying to tell them there’s something more to their life that they’re missing. That there’s a deeper and more profound life to be living - if only they’d stop, go inwards and listen.
Now I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong with more money, more clients or more toys or that you should quit your job or shut down your business and go...
How do you turn up each and every day and engage with the wins and engage with the hardships that come at you?
If you’re like most - you get excited and celebrate when you have a win or when something comes off that you have been working hard towards. Most people I know celebrate with a bottle of bubbly when they buy a new house or get a promotion at work or bring on a whole bunch of new clients.
If you do celebrate the wins and the exciting things that happen to you - good on you! You absolutely should be!
Now, please be honest when you answer this next question - how do you turn up when things aren’t going your way? How do you turn up when things are going pear-shaped and you have money or cash flow issues, a business or a team that isn’t performing like it used to, a relationship in crisis or you’re at the point of burn out because you’re taking on too much?
Most people, unfortunately, dig their head in the sand and pretend it...
Did you know that we have on average between 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts every single day? That’s an average of 2,500 to 3,300 every hour!!
What’s even more alarming is that recent research suggests that of this insane amount of thoughts we all have every day - 80% of them are negative.....
80%!!!!
How the heck are we supposed to achieve our goals, create meaningful changes in our lives and grow into the person we are inspired to be when 80% of the thoughts we are having don’t support us living the life we are trying to create??!!
I’ll tell you how.....this is where awareness of our thoughts and observing our mind comes into play.
Being fully aware of the thoughts we are having each and every day, moment to moment means that we are able to catch ourselves when negative or limiting thoughts and beliefs arise in our mind and move them on without them creating a lasting imprint (and impact) in our brains.
When we are able to catch these...
Every single day we have an opportunity. An opportunity to choose how we act, behave, speak and react to every situation we are faced with.
Let me ask you a question: What’s your default way of dealing with the hard or uncomfortable life experiences that come your way?
Do you react unconsciously from the triggered, hurt or scared parts of your personality? Do you react negatively and either lash out at others or retreat and hide? Do you play the victim and immediately blame others?
Or do use these daily life experiences to practice stepping into being a leader? Do you use these experiences as a way to practice observing yourself, recognising that you are triggered - but choosing to step up and into the parts of your personality that will help you rise above the situation. The parts of your personality that are wiser and more mature than your triggered parts. The parts of your personality that know that no matter what adversity you are facing - it is always better...
